2 Weapons Seller to ABG Perpetrator of Shooting at Siam Paragon Mall Arrested

Thai police have arrested two men suspected of selling firearms to a 14-year-old teenager who was the perpetrator of a fatal shooting at a luxury mall in Bangkok. At least two people died in the shooting which shocked the Thai public.

As reported AFPThursday (5/10/2023), a 14 year old boy, whose identity was not revealed to the public, has been charged with murder related to the shooting at Siam Paragon Mall, Bangkok, on Tuesday (3/10) local time.

Local police said the shooting was carried out with an empty pistol or a blank-firing pistol that was modified to fire live bullets. An empty gun usually only makes a loud sound like a gunshot, without releasing a projectile or bullet.

Police personnel in Yala Province in southern Thailand succeeded in arresting two men in the early hours of Thursday (5/10) who were suspected of selling weapons to the 14-year-old teenager who was the perpetrator of the shooting at the Siam Paragon mall.

“The police raided their house to find more evidence related to this case,” said a senior Thai police officer, Yala, to AFP.

“They were sent to Bangkok for interrogation,” he said.

Hundreds of people ran out of the luxury mall which was busy with visitors because of fear when the shooting occurred on Tuesday (3/10) afternoon. A total of seven people were shot in the incident, with a woman from China and another person from Myanmar killed.
