Antonio Maíllo will be the next coordinator of Izquierda Unida

The candidacy headed by the former coordinator of IU in Andalusia, Antonio Maíllohas won the primaries to elect the new leadership with 53.4 percent of the votes, which confirms that he will be chosen as the new federal coordinator of Izquierda Unida in the Federal Assembly that is being held this weekend.

The candidacy of the Minister of Youth and Children, Sira Regohas been the second most voted, with 23.4 percent of the votes of the militancy, according to the final results made public this Tuesday.

For its part, the candidacy headed by the general secretary of the PCM, Alvaro Aguilerahas obtained 14.1% of the votes, and the one led by José Antonio García Rubio, 8.3%. In the vote 8,350 people have participated52.05% of the militancy.
