Bangladesh fire : Building fire in Dhaka, Bangladesh; Death of 43 people leader








Leaders Online Desk: At least 43 people have died in a fire that broke out overnight in a six-storey building in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. 22 people have been injured. This information has been given by the Health Minister of Bangladesh. The injured are undergoing treatment in the hospital. It took 13 vehicles of the fire brigade to extinguish the fire. According to information, a huge fire broke out in a six-storey building called Green Cozy Cottage in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, on Thursday (29). 43 people died in this. 22 people are seriously injured. So 75 people have been successfully evacuated. 42 of them have fallen unconscious. All were admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery Hospital.

Bangladesh fire: Fear of death toll increasing

Health Minister of Bangladesh Dr. Samant Lal Sen said the fire broke out in the restaurant on the first floor around 10 pm and quickly spread to the upper floors. There were many more restaurants and clothing stores. The fire was brought under control at 12.30 pm. He further said that 22 people are undergoing treatment in both the hospitals. Some bodies are severely burnt. It is difficult to identify them. The death toll is feared to rise.

There have been fire incidents in Bangladesh before

Fire incidents have occurred in Bangladesh before. In 2012, 124 people died in a textile factory fire. To save their lives, the artisans jumped from a nine-storey building. Many people also died due to falling from the building. The cause of the fire was said to be short circuit. In 2019, a 22-storey building caught fire. 20 people died in this. Sri Lankan nationals are also among the dead. About 100 people were rescued. Water was also sprayed on the building from a helicopter to extinguish the fire. Similarly, in February 2019, an apartment and a chemical warehouse caught fire. 110 people lost their lives in this.
