Biden blames Vladimir Putin for the death of Alexei Navalny

WASHINGTON (apro).– Vladimir Putin is responsible for the death of Russian dissident Alexei Navalny, said the president of the United States, Joe Biden, who indicated that his government is considering a series of options to possibly sanction Russia for the case.

“We don’t know what happened, but there is no doubt that Navalny’s death is a consequence of something that Putin and members of his government did,” Biden said at the White House during a brief conference.

According to press reports released by Putin’s government, Navalny, 47, died in prison after taking a walk and collapsing.

“I am not surprised by the news, already in 2020 (Putin) had tried to assassinate him, arrested him and sent them to a prison of total isolation, but Navalny continued to be the voice of truth about violence and corruption in Russia,” stressed the President Biden.

The US president, ironically, announced that the Russian government will give its version of Navalny’s cause of death.

“But there is no doubt, there is no doubt, Putin is responsible,” President Biden stressed during the brief meeting with reporters.

Regarding the deceased Russian dissident today, the president pointed out that he was a man who believed in his country and an example of denouncing the totalitarianism experienced by his fellow citizens, someone brave who in 2020, even knowing that he was going to be arrested, decided to return to his nation.

Biden took advantage of the case of Navalny’s death to pressure the House of Representatives of his country’s Congress to approve the $60.1 billion package that the Senate endorsed a few days ago in humanitarian and military aid for Ukraine.

In parallel, I also used the moment to launch a strong criticism of former President Donald Trump, for having said that Russia has an open letter to invade the nations of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) that fail to comply with the conditions of their membership.

“What the former president said is something horrendous and scandalous, Putin and the entire world should know it; If a member of NATO is attacked, all members of the organization will respond to the aggression,” said the president of the United States.

Biden, on the other hand, tried to lower attention to the alleged issue that his government plans to install satellite warfare equipment in space with the capacity to launch nuclear weapons to the ground.

“There is no nuclear threat against Americans and the rest of the world, there is no evidence that what Russia is doing is a decision in this regard and I hope they don’t do it,” Biden said.
