Capture of CJNG leader unleashes narcoblockades and shootings in Ciudad Guzmán (Videos)

GUADALAJARA, Jal. (apro).– The alleged arrest of a leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) led to clashes between members of organized crime and elements of the National Guard, as well as three blockades in the southern area of ​​the municipality of Ciudad Guzmán.

The governor of Jalisco, Enrique Alfaro, reported that an element of the National Guard was injured.

The coordinator of the Jalisco Security Cabinet, Ricardo Sánchez Berubuen, confirmed through social networks that a confrontation was recorded between armed civilians and National Guard officers on the highway stretch from Ciudad Guzmán towards Tonaya.

He explained that the points where blockages occurred are: exit to Zapotiltic, Ciudad Guzmán-El Grullo highway and entry through the free highway at La Laguna.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Ciudad Guzmán, Alejandro Barragán, mentioned that before 8 p.m. there were closures to traffic with cargo trucks on avenues and roads in the southern area of ​​his municipality.

He stated that, unofficially, these actions committed by a criminal group are a consequence of the detention of a person by federal authorities.
