CDMX Metro users ‘scream’ this September 15… due to slow progress and saturation

The Mexico City Metro presents slow progress, stopped trains and saturation on the eve of the celebrations for the Cry of Independence.

The Line A, the trains take time to arrive and stop at stations for around 10 minutes. In the Line B The service is also slow although the Metro makes progress of only five minutes.

In the Line 3 Some trains are reported to be stopped for up to 10 minutes at stations such as Zapata and Viveros/ Derechos Humanos.

In the Line 7direction El Rosario, trains stop for up to five minutes at stations causing the carriages to become saturated due to high demand.


In the Line 8 The trains “base” at some stations, causing discomfort to users.

In the Line 9 The dosing strategy at the Pantitlán station slows down the entry of people and trains stop for several minutes at stations.

Metro and Metrobús schedules for September 15 and 16

The Collective Transportation System (STC) reported that for the Friday, September 15 will operate as usual, on a schedule of 05:00 to 00:00 hours. However, will extend its service until 1 in the morning on Saturday, September 16 on Lines 2,3,8,9 and B due to the massive event that will take place in the capital’s Zócalo.

Meanwhile, for the 16 of Septemberthe Metro will open its doors from 07:00 in the morning and will close at 00:00 on all active lines of the public transport network.


Remember that the Zócalo-Tenochtitlan station will remain closed until further notice within the framework of the celebrations, as will the southern access to the Deer Park station from line 12.

  • Friday, September 15: from 04:30 to 00:00.
  • Saturday, September 16: from 05:00 to 00:00.

RTP

  • Friday, September 15: from 05:00 to 00:00.
  • Saturday, September 16: from 06:00 to 00:00.

Trolleybus

  • Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 16: from 05:00 to 00:00.

Light Rail

  • Friday, September 15: from 05:00 to 23:30.
  • Saturday, September 16: from 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

Cablebus

  • Friday, September 15: from 05:00 to 23:00.
  • Saturday, September 16: from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Ecobike

  • Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 16: from 05:00 to 00:30.

Suburban train

  • Friday, September 15: from 5:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
  • Saturday, September 16: from 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Support Services Line 1

  • Friday, September 15: from 05:00 to 00:00.
  • Saturday, September 16: from 07:00 to 00:00.

Emerging Service Line 12

  • Friday, September 15: from 05:00 to 00:00.
  • Saturday, September 16: from 07:00 to 00:00.

Bike parking

  • Friday, September 15: from 05:00 to 1:00 in the morning on Saturday.
  • Saturday, September 16: from 07:00 to 00:00.

Parking meters

The parking meter service will operate normally as follows:

  • Friday, September 15: from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 16: from 08:00 to 1:00 in the morning on Sunday.

Take into account that during September 16, the Integrated Mobility Network will also allow entry with bicycle to the Metro, Metrobús, Cablebús and Light Rail, while in the Trolleybús and RTP, access with bicycles will be subject to availability of spaces within the buses.
