Cry of Independence 2023: What groups and artists will be in each CDMX mayor’s office?

We are a few days away from the traditional Cry of Independence and if you live in Mexico City or will visit the capital next September 15here we tell you the artists who will be presented in the Zócalo of the capital and in each of the city halls.

Grupo Frontera became known just last year with the song ‘No se va’ and now they will perform in concert at the Zócalo in Mexico City to liven up the celebrations for the 213th Anniversary of Independence.

The president of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obradorannounced that Grupo Frontera will be the band that will liven up the Grito de Independencia and also invited Yahritza y su Esencia to also perform at the Zócalo after the controversy that the group aroused due to comments about Mexico City.

“They are Mexicans, they are ours and they are human beings, regardless of anything, we are in favor of universal brotherhood. So she is going to come and we are going to ask someone to take her to eat some good tacos and some tamales.”commented AMLO.


These will be the artists in each town hall on September 15

At the moment, not all mayors have confirmed the events that will be held on the night of September 15 for the Cry of Independence, but these are the ones that have already announced the artists who will perform on their esplanades.

Álvaro Obregón Mayor’s Office

On the esplanade of the Álvaro Obregón mayor’s office, the Banda El Limón by Salvador Lizárraga next September 15.

Azcapotzalco Mayor’s Office

The mayor’s office will have the presentation of the Ballet Folklórico de México by Amalia Hernández and the Sonora Ambassadors of Cumbia Dinamita. In addition, there will be a traditional festival with fireworks.

Benito Juárez City Hall

The mayor Santiago Taboada has contemplated a traditional popular festival in the Benito Juárez, in addition to the participation of various groups and soloists.


Coyoacan City Hall

For this year’s Cry of Independence, the Coyoacán mayor’s office prepared a popular festival with fireworks and the presence of the Alberto Pedraza.

Cuauhtémoc Mayor’s Office

The mayor’s office in charge of Sandra Cuevas will carry out the traditional popular festival with Mexican snacks, crafts, a fair, folkloric ballet and local artists.

Iztacalco Mayor’s Office

On the esplanade of the Iztacalco mayor’s office, the Coronation of the Queen of the National Holidays 2023 will take place. Willie González, Humberto Cravioto Jr., Christian Rabagán, the Adolescents of Venezuela and the La Típica orchestra to make the attendees dance.

Mayor Miguel Hidalgo

La Sonora Dinamita and Bobby Pulido They will liven up the national holiday in the Miguel Hidalgo, informed the mayor Mauricio Tabe. In addition, from September 9 to 23 there will be a dance contest, a Mexican film screening and an amateur boxing final.

Tlalpan City Hall
