Foreign ministers of Central Asian countries gathered in Dushanbe

The foreign ministers of the Central Asian countries have gathered in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.

According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, a meeting of foreign ministers of Central Asian countries was held in Dushanbe.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirajeddin Mukhriddin, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Narov and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev.

The ministers discussed issues of regional cooperation, strengthening cooperation in trade, economic, investment, transport and transit areas, ensuring regional security, and jointly combating modern challenges and threats.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also discussed the preparations for the 4th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, which will be held this year. The parties stated that the Agreement on Friendship, Good Neighborliness and Cooperation for the Development of Central Asia in the 21st century, which is planned to be signed within the framework of this summit, will create new opportunities for cooperation between the countries of the region. Ministers stressed that this summit will be the beginning of a period of unity.

The ministers stated that dynamic and mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries of the region will contribute to the achievement of sustainable development and common prosperity in Central Asia.
