MEXICO CITY (apro).- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador continued his criticism against retired minister José Ramón Cossío Díaz, whom he called “reactionary, conservative and hypocritical.”
“Ask an educator, Gilberto Guevara Niebla, Héctor Aguilar Camín, who was co-opted by (Carlos) Salinas who was a progressive man and became very reactionary, who has a lot of influence at UNAM; Rolando Cordera, ask Cossío to define what justice is, reactionary minister, hypocritical conservative.”
“Morelos said: “Let there be courts that defend the weak from the abuses committed by the strong.” Is that what Cossió did? Is that what ministers do? Do they protect the weak from the abuses committed by the strong? No, because that was Morelos and if we talk about Juárez there were so many lessons, especially his perseverance, never losing faith in the cause,” said the president.
The president continued his criticism of various political actors, who, in his opinion, have only looted the country.
Last week, Cossio Díaz stressed that one of the future challenges of the Judiciary is to address its current limitations in the resolution of social conflicts, because the law does not have the capacity to resolve many human conflicts.
In a talk at the Industrial Club in Querétaro, Cossío Díaz stressed that many of the problems that are brought to litigation should be resolved immediately, but current trials take seven years.
