G20: Report that China has officially informed India that the President is not participating

New Delhi: Chinese President Xi Jinping will not participate in the G20 summit in India. It is reported that China has officially informed India about this. Premier Li Qiang will lead the Chinese delegation at the G20 conference. Meanwhile, G20 Special Secretary Muktesh Pardesi said that he has not received the written letter in this regard.

This is the first time that Xi Jinping is absent from the G20 meeting. The G20 summit will be held in Delhi on September 9 and 10. Russian President Vladimir Putin has also announced that he will not be able to attend the conference. Putin informed the prime minister over the telephone that he would not be able to attend the meeting in person. The Russian delegation will be headed by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Earlier, Xi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting during the BRICS conference. Modi had conveyed India’s concerns about the Line of Actual Control to the Chinese President.
