Huawei MatePad 11.5″S PaperMatte Edition Released, The Screen is ‘Magical’

Kuala Lumpur

Apart from introducing smartwatches Watch Fit 3 and ultra-thin laptops Matebook X Pro, Huawei also launched a third gadget at the Huawei Innovative Product Launch event which was held in Malaysia, Monday (12/5/2024). The tablet is the Huawei MatePad 11.5″S PaperMatte Edition.

This tablet is certain to enter the Indonesian market and is a new generation of the previously released Huawei 11″5 PaperMatte Edition. As the name suggests, this tablet uses and features a PaperMatte screen. What is it?

According to Huawei, PaperMatte screens are able to minimize the risk of excessive exposure to blue light which causes eye health problems, especially in children who are growing up. In the previous generation, Huawei reduced 97% of light interference on the screen so that the eyes remained comfortable for long-term use.

In addition, the PaperMatte screen surface creates a distinctive sensation like writing or drawing directly on paper, making it more vivid when used anywhere in various light conditions.

Well, the Huawei MatePad 11.5″S is the first productivity tablet with the new generation of Huawei PaperMatte Display technology. This technology reduces surface reflectivity to below 2% and eliminates 99% of light interference, so that in brightly lit indoor environments, or even under sunlight Matahari, users are still comfortable reading or watching videos.

As mentioned, users can also write, draw, and paint on the screen like paper. Nano-level etching simulates the texture of paper, which works well with Huawei M-Pencil (3rd generation supported NearLink technology), similar to what is felt when writing, drawing or painting on paper. This is claimed to improve the writing experience by 47% compared to traditional tablets.

Huawei revealed a little about the specifications of the MatePad 11.5″S, namely a golden ratio of 3:2, a refresh rate of 144 Hz, and a screen resolution of up to 2.8K.

Huawei representatives confirmed that this tablet would be brought to the Indonesian market, although there is no definite schedule or price yet. It is possible that it will launch in Indonesia in the near future along with the Huawei 11″5S variant which does not use a PaperMatte screen.
