Israel says Hamas killed one more soldier; Five soldiers were killed in four days

Tel Aviv: Israel says that Hamas has killed one of its soldiers in southern Gaza. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that Staff Sergeant Noam Haba (20) was killed.

The Israeli army confirmed that one soldier was killed yesterday and three soldiers were killed the day before. With this, five Israeli soldiers were killed in the attack by Hamas in four days.

Israel says 234 soldiers have been killed since the ground offensive began in Gaza. However, Hamas says the real figure is much higher.

Noam Haba, who was killed, was a member of the 202nd Battalion of the Paratrooper Brigade from Jerusalem. The IDF also said that several soldiers who were with him were injured in the Hamas attack. It is reported that the injury of one of them is serious. All the injured were shifted to hospitals for treatment.

Staff Sergeant Rotham Zahar Hadar (20) died yesterday. He is an intelligence wing soldier of Paratroopers Brigade. Three soldiers who were with him were seriously injured. Soldiers aged 36, 30 and 27 from Israel’s 630th Battalion were killed in the attack on Tuesday in southern Gaza. Meanwhile, Hamas’ armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, said on Monday that 10 occupying Israeli soldiers had been killed by its fighters in clashes. The clash took place in Abasan Al Kabira near Khan Yunis in southern Gaza. The Qassam Brigade said the soldiers were killed in direct combat.
