Israeli military wounded eight Palestinians in Nablus

Israeli soldiers wounded eight Palestinians during riots in the city of Nablus in the north of the occupied West Bank.

According to information received by the Anadolu Agency (AA), Jewish settlers, accompanied by the Israeli army, raided Nablus, where they went by bus to the tomb of the prophet Yusuf.

Palestinians attempted to block the road on Amman Avenue near the tomb by throwing Molotov cocktails and rocks at Israeli military vehicles.

The Israeli military opened fire on the Palestinians with firearms and traumatic weapons, used tear gas and stun grenades.

Ahmed Jibril, director of the Palestinian Red Crescent Emergency Service, told AA that eight Palestinians received gunshot wounds and injuries as a result of the riots, and another 13 were injured due to the negative effects of tear gas.

According to Jibril, among the victims is a young Palestinian with a gunshot wound. The three injured were taken to the Rafidia hospital in Nablus.

Jews consider the Tomb of Yusuf, located east of Nablus, a shrine.

Jews believe that a tomb in the West Bank city of Nablus holds the tomb of the prophet Yusuf. But many archaeologists believe that the grave is not so ancient and that a Muslim named Yusuf al-Duweikat rests in it.

Fourteen Israelis have been killed in four attacks in Israel over the past three weeks.

After the Israeli army raids on the West Bank, violence intensified in the region, killing at least 20 Palestinians.
