MEXICO CITY (apro).- The head of Government, Martí Batres, supported President Andrés Manuel López Obrador that the election of Xóchitl Gálvez as coordinator of the Broad Front for Mexico (FAM) was a decision “made in advance.”
This morning in a conference, from the Old City Hall Palace, the capital’s president assured that in the election of the opposition contender for the Presidency of Mexico “there was a decision made in advance, as announced by the president.”
Also, he described the FAM method for choosing a candidate as “peculiar” because “it did not reach the end of the process.”
Regarding the above, the Morenista explained that although the election method is “posed publicly and openly” it corresponds to “other political forces.”
And he stressed: “It is a process that the president spoke about at the time.”
Asked whether Xóchitl Gálvez can be a “strong” rival for the Presidency in 2024, he assured that, after his analysis carried out on opinion studies, including those that are “anti-Q4”, there is an advantage to the “progressive” option. .
Due to the above, Martí Batres emphasized: “I see it as very difficult for the conservatives to overcome or return to the Government.”
Regarding Morena’s internal survey to choose the presidential candidate for the 2024 elections, he said that he will support the result that will be announced next Wednesday “whatever it may be.”
On Wednesday, August 30, the Broad Front for Mexico (FAM) chose Xóchitl Gálvez as the only candidate for the presidential candidacy for 2024. Regarding the decision, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador accused that the opposition’s election process “was mere simulation.”
