NBA: Minnesota surprises Memphis

Featuring a terrific postseason debut from Anthony Edwards, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat yesterday 130-117 to the memphis grizzlies at the start of the playoffs of the NBAin which the Utah jazz and the philadelphia The 76ers also got ahead in their series.

Anthony Edwards, the number one in the 2020 Draft, made his debut in a playoff game with a spectacular tally of 36 points, four triples and six assists.

Only three players — Magic Johnson, Derrick Rose and Tyler Herro — were capable before reaching 36 points in their postseason debut before turning 21.

With this exhibit, Edwardsan explosive 20-year-old shooting guard, commanded the unexpected triumph of the Timberwolves on the court of the Grizzlies, second seed in the Western Conference.

“He is a special talent. When he plays at this level he is almost unstoppable. He’s actually unstoppable,” Minnesota figure Karl-Anthony Towns acknowledged.

For his part, Towns bounced back from his disappointing performance in the playoff against Clippers adding 29 points and 13 rebounds.

For Memphis, their leader Ja Morant reached 32 points but did not have enough help from other props like Jaren Jackson Jr. (11 points) or Desmond Bane (17).

The young Grizzlies, one of the emerging teams in the NBA, faced a playoff series for the first time with the pressure of being the favorites and the Timberwolves made them pay from the start of the game.

The Grizzlies never found their rhythm and only held on thanks to the talent of Morant, who brought the crowd to its feet with several stratospheric dunks.
