His stance that goes beyond borders, does not fit into any mold, and does not lose his enthusiasm for a moment, always creates excitement in his interlocutors. I would like to share with you that I felt the same excitement at the exhibition.” said.
“Necip Fazıl was one of the most productive names of the republican period”
Emphasizing that Kısakürek is one of the important names influencing the world of Turkish thought with his poems and works, Ersoy said:
“Necip Fazıl has been one of the most prolific names of our republican period. The master, who has a cause and never hesitates to speak his mind out loud, has chosen the name of the work in which he collected all his poems as ‘Çile’ because he knew that the road he entered was a road full of suffering. Necip Fazıl, who never compromised his stance in the face of all the difficulties he was exposed to, said, ‘To meet? Maybe? … I’m not dead yet.’ “He was brave enough to shout that there is no room for despair in his life with his verses. He was tried, but he never bowed his head. He was convicted, he did not stop writing. He was thrown into a cell, but he did not shut up. His voice went beyond four walls and resonated all over Turkey.”
Pointing out that the master man of letters continued to produce in prison, Ersoy said, “Neither the dungeon nor the iron bars nor the prison walls could be set against his words. Because he always believed that he was right in his case. Sometimes that righteousness and self-confidence means ‘Let the days be yours, give the darkness away’. We see it in his line, and sometimes in Reis Bey’s cries of the convict who was sentenced to death, ‘You will hang me, but my soul will follow you step by step in this world and beyond’. made its assessment.
The exhibition took its name from the work “Letter to Mehmet from the Dungeon”
Minister Ersoy underlined the importance of the exhibition in terms of enabling new generations to understand the conditions of the period in which Kısakürek was convicted, and to get to know his world of thought more closely.
Pointing out that the name of the exhibition was taken from the poem “Letter to Mehmet from the Dungeon”, Ersoy continued his words as follows:
“In the exhibition, which was prepared in a very professional way, it is seen that all the details were prepared with great delicacy and meticulousness. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Culture and Research Foundation, which was established in 2015, for the work they carry out.
