Poland Arrests Ukrainian Citizen Suspected of Being a Russian Spy

Poland’s special services said it had detained a Ukrainian citizen. This citizen is suspected of working for the Russian secret service.

Reported by AFP, Friday (16/4/2024) the man was accused of carrying out sabotage preparations.

“Acting in an organized criminal group, under orders of the Russian secret service,” said a statement from the Polish agency.

“Accused of making preparations for acts of diversion and sabotage,” he continued.

The man, who was arrested on January 31. He is also said to be preparing to burn down buildings in Wroclaw.

“It is preparing to set fire to buildings in the city of Wroclaw (southwest), close to infrastructure elements of strategic importance,” Warsaw said.

The man faces up to 12 years in prison if convicted. Polish authorities did not reveal his age.
