Power Struggle in Pakistan: Imran Khan’s Pro-Candidate Will Sit on the Opposition Bench? | leader

Leader Online Desk : The results of the elections to the National Parliament and Provincial Assemblies of Pakistan have been announced. As no party has secured an absolute majority, the power struggle continues. Independent candidates pro-Imran Khan are leading with 93 seats. Now Nawaz Sharif’s party Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PMLN) which has won 75 seats to form the government and Bilawal Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) which has to settle for 54 seats have started talks to form a coalition government to save the country from political instability. Tehreek-e-Insaf president Gauhar Ali Khan has clarified that independent candidates who are supporters of Imran Khan’s party have prepared to sit on the opposition bench.

Will Imran Khan’s party play the role of opposition?

Our party has majority. But this was not respected. We needed to invite to form the government. Our party is not ready to form the government, demanding that the Election Commission investigate the disputed results of 70 seats in the National Parliament. Gauhar Ali Khan clarified in an interview that we will play the role of opposition party. He has also said that under no circumstances will the party form an alliance with the parties of Nawaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto.

Sharif-Bhutto moved to get the support of independents

Six independent candidates have announced to join Nawaz Sharif’s party Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PMLN). Imran Khan’s party has announced that this decision was taken because the ruling party did not have enough strength. The parties of Nawaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto are trying to get independent candidates. So far, six independently elected candidates have joined the ‘PMLN’, including Waseem Qadir, the winning candidate supported by Imran Khan’s PTI party in Lahore. I have returned to my home, said Wasim Qadir while talking to the media.

Sharif-Bhutto agree in principle on political cooperation

Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Pakistan Peoples Party agreed in principle on political cooperation. In the meeting, the overall situation of the country and future political cooperation were discussed in detail. The leaders agreed to cooperate politically. Nawaz Sharif’s party said in a statement that the country will get political stability.

Karachi’s ‘MQM’ talks with Sharif

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) party in Karachi also made a remarkable performance in this year’s elections. 17 candidates of this party have won. This party has held talks with Nawaz Sharif for establishment of power. The decision of this party will also be important in deciding the fate of the next government in Pakistan. A majority of 169 is required in the National Assembly of Pakistan.
