Puente estimates the cost of Sunday’s robbery in Rodalies at 15 million and plans two months to solve it

The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, has estimated 15 million euros the cost of the copper theft on Sunday in Montcada Bifurcació (Barcelona), which caused a widespread breakdown in the Rodalies service, coinciding with election day.

He regretted that the robbery on election day in Catalunya Puente that this caused “an alteration of the most important democratic fact that can occur in a democracy” and explained that the Government will present a complaint, at a press conference this Monday together with the president of Renfe, Raül Blanco, and the president of Adif, Ángel Contreras.

The theft of copper cable in Montcada Bifurcació caused this Sunday a general breakdown in the Rodalies service and has altered the operation of the R1, R3, R3 Nord, R4 Sud and R7 trains this Monday, when representatives of Adif, Renfe, the Generalitat and Barcelona City Council meet to analyze mobility in Catalonia for Tuesday.
