Russia launched massive air strikes in Ukraine and in total killed at least 30 people and injured more than a hundred people. Schools, a maternity hospital, a shopping center and several apartment blocks were among the buildings hit.

Reported AFP, Saturday (30/12/2023), the attack caused a Russian missile to pass through Polish airspace and sparked international condemnation. The Ukrainian military estimates that Russia has fired 158 missiles and drones at Ukraine and that 114 of them have been destroyed.

“Today Russia attacked us with almost all the weapons it has,” said President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Air force spokesman Yuriy Ignat told AFP that this was a record number of missiles and the most massive missile attack.

Russia tried to defeat Ukraine’s air defenses in most of its major cities. Namely by launching a wave of Shahed drone attacks followed by various types of missiles fired from aircraft and from territory controlled by Russia.

Interior Minister Igor Klymenko announced via Telegram: “To date, 30 people have been killed and more than 160 injured as a result of Russia’s massive attack on Ukrainian territory in the morning.”

The Russian army said it had carried out 50 group attacks and one large-scale assault on military facilities in Ukraine over the past week. And added that all targets had been hit.
