Russia’s annual inflation rate hit 17.83 percent in April, the highest level since January 2002, official data revealed on Friday.
According to Rosstat, Russia’s statistical agency, food prices increased 20.5 percent year-on-year in April.
Prices rose 20.2 percent for non-food products and 10.9 percent for services.
According to Russia’s central bank expectations, the annual inflation rate is projected to be between 18 percent and 23 percent during 2022.
