The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, reappeared this Monday with an eye patch at an official event in Berlin after suffering a fall while doing sports. The leader had to cancel several events after an accident that, as he described, seems “worse than it is.”
The 65-year-old chancellor fell on Saturday, unable to attend a meeting organized in the city of Heringen and a campaign event near Frankfurt, ahead of regional elections to be held in Hesse in October.
Scholz posed with the patch in an image shared on social networks to anticipate the impact of his image like this: “I’m waiting for the memes. Thanks for the good wishes”.
