Taboada offers to improve budgets for composers, musicians and artistic creators

MEXICO CITY (apro).- The candidate for the head of Government of the “Va por la CDMX” alliance, Santiago Taboada, committed to improving the budgets that Mexico City grants to the cultural sector, to benefit composers, musicians and artistic creators of the capital.

In a meeting with the Society of Authors and Composers, the PAN member described the budgets allocated to the cultural sector as “meagre” and put on the table giving stimuli and incentives to artists, to whom he proposed democratizing public cultural spaces with their help. :

“There is no better way to have a cultural public space than for you to help us, not only to participate in them, but to be part of the cultural programming, of what we also want to see in Mexico City.”

Then, in front of the attendees, he committed the candidate for the Senate of the Republic, Cynthia López Castro, and the candidate for senator for Mexico City, Verónica Juárez, to contribute to the agenda of the cultural sector: “Because we also need everyone and everyone, to be able to generate a window to so many initiatives that are still pending, and I am going to entrust it to my senators there.”

And he said that for him the rethinking of culture in the capital is part of a strategy: “There is a lot of talk that through culture, through music, through the arts, violence is also reduced, but that has “It has to stop being a speech to become a reality, and that has to do with budget support.”
