The European agenda of Moldova was discussed in Germany

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Nicu Popescu, during a working visit to Germany, discussed the European agenda of the republic with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, MOLDPRES reports with reference to the press service of the MFAEI.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the consideration by the European Union of the application for Moldova’s accession to the EU in the context of the country’s submission of answers to the second part of the questionnaire of the European Commission.

The head of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry expressed confidence that the opinion of the European Commission on the application for accession will serve as a solid basis for a positive decision on this issue by the EU member states.

“We are committed to modernizing and reforming the country through the joint efforts of government institutions, the business community, civil society and citizens. We are ready to work together in this direction,” Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu said.

The officials also discussed issues of trade liberalization with the EU, increasing Moldova’s exports to the EU, as well as expanding cooperation between Moldova and the European Union in the field of security.
