US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, for the first time since the beginning of the Russian war against Ukraine, had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu. This was announced on Friday by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.
According to the report, during the talks, Austin “called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and emphasized the importance of maintaining channels of communication.”
