The Mariachis of Guadalajara are left without a baseball stadium due to lack of payments

MEXICO CITY (apro).- The Mariachis de Guadalajara club, of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB), will no longer be able to play in the Panamericano stadium due to lack of payments for the maintenance and operation of the property, as reported by the Council State for Sports Promotion of Jalisco (CODE).

The Mariachis used the property since their debut in the LMB in 2021 due to the expansion of the league, announced by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador from the National Palace.

It should be noted that the CODE decision adds to the recent complaints of human trafficking, made by a Dominican businesswoman against the owners of Mariachis de Guadalajara, and to the scams against more than 10 suppliers, including an indigenous artisan.

“Once the causes for non-compliance with the obligations of said agreement were proven, a resolution was reached regarding the termination procedure, unanimously by the Board of Directors, in which it was determined to terminate the reference agreement early, Therefore, as of today, the Mariachis de Guadalajara team will not be able to continue using the property,” the statement reads.

In addition, the CODE legal area will carry out the process so that Rafael Tejeda and Carlos Valenzuela, who are owners of the team, pay the expenses of repairing the stadium and in the event of a new refusal on their part, the corresponding legal actions will be initiated.
