MEXICO CITY (proceso.com.mx).- The prosecutor of Morelos, Uriel Carmona Gandara, will remain in preventive detention after the resolution of a capital judge who confirmed the second arrest warrant issued against him by the Attorney General of Justice of Mexico City (FGJCDMX), now for the crime of concealment for favour.
The control judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City validated the argument of the capital’s Prosecutor’s Office, according to which Carmona could evade the action of justice, for which he endorsed the sentence of preventive detention.
The case of Carmona, of cover-up for favour, will be analyzed next Wednesday; That day it will be defined if the public servant is linked to the process for this crime, which the capital’s Prosecutor’s Office established 14 minutes after a collegiate court decided on his immediate release.
The man has been imprisoned in the South Prison since August 4, as a result of a joint operation between the FGJCDMX, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) and the Secretary of the Navy to capture him; The capital’s Prosecutor’s Office accuses him of obstructing the action of justice in the femicide of Ariadna Fernanda López.
Carmona and his defense have alleged that the Prosecutor is the victim of a campaign against him concocted by the capital’s Prosecutor’s Office and by Governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco.
