The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar, presented a mandate to form a government to the Minister of Internal Affairs and MP from the National Unity Party (PNU) Ünal Ustel. This is stated in the press service of the administration of the President of the TRNC.
According to the report, the decision was made after Tatar’s meeting with Ustel and acting Prime Minister Faiz Sucuoglu.
“The President of the Tatars, after consultations with the chairman of the National Security Council and Prime Minister Sucuoglu, instructed Ünal Ustel to form a new government on the basis of the second paragraph of Article 106 of the Constitution,” the press release says.
According to the constitution, Ustel must present the composition of the new cabinet to the head of state within 15 days or renounce the mandate to form a government.
