The Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, has announced that the Treasury’s telephone service hours will be extended to the afternoon with the aim that taxpayers can more easily access a service that supports citizens in their procedures with the Tax Agency.
In an appearance in the Congress of Deputies, Montero explained that The new Treasury telephone service hours will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.. This schedule will be extended by five hours, since currently the service ends at 2 p.m.
It is still unknown from what date telephone assistance will be expanded, a measure that will benefit people who have problems with telematic services and who, for work reasons, could not receive assistance from the Treasury in the morning.
This will not be the only novelty that the Treasury plans for this year of 2024. Minister Montero has explained that progress will be made in simplifying the language of the Tax Agency, something that will extend both to its official channels and to communications and notifications. that are done to taxpayers.
Other measures will affect the Ministry of Finance itself: the improvement of its website or the improvement of computer applications that depend on the Treasury, among others. In parallel, accountability and transparency will be encouraged, in addition to automatic communications between the organization and the Cortes.
