A United States (US) airline, Delta Air Lines, was forced to divert its flight after one of its passengers experienced severe diarrhea. The flight bound for Barcelona in Spain was forced to fly back to Atlanta, USA, so that the passengers could be evacuated.
As reported Channel News AsiaTuesday (5/9/2023), data from flight tracker Flightradar24 shows that flight number DL194 had only been in the air for 50 minutes on the Atlanta-Barcelona route on September 1, when it suddenly started turning around.
The plane, which was not named, returned to Atlanta about an hour later.
An audio recording of the conversation between one of the pilots of the plane and the Air Traffic Control (ATC) operator was uploaded to social media.
“This is a biohazard problem,” the pilot said to the ATC operator as heard in the audio recording.
“There was a passenger who had diarrhea the whole way on the plane, so they wanted us to return to Atlanta,” said the plane’s pilot.
