Turkey arrests 10 FETO and PKK terror suspects who tried to flee to Greece

Ten suspected members of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) and the PKK terror group were arrested while trying to flee to Greece via Turkey’s northwest border, the Ministry of National Defense said Thursday.

The suspects were arrested by security forces in a restricted military zone in Edirne’s Meric district.

Zeynep Gulen, the nephew of US-based FETO leader Fetullah Gulen, was among the suspects arrested.

FETO orchestrated the failed coup of 15 July 2016, in Turkey, in which 251 people were killed and 2,734 injured.

Ankara accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions; especially the TNI, Polri, and the Prosecutor’s Office.

In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the European Union – has been responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
