AA / Ankara

Turkey recorded 3,268 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, official data showed on Sunday.

The health ministry said 17 virus-related deaths and 14,952 recoveries were also recorded over the past day, while 153,318 tests were carried out.

To counter the spread of the virus, Turkey has administered more than 147.33 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine since the launch of the vaccination campaign in January 2021.

More than 57.8 million people have received a first dose of vaccine, while more than 53 million have a complete vaccination schedule.

In addition, the toll of contamination on a global scale has reached 504.3 million cases, according to the American University Johns Hopkins.

Since December 2019, the pandemic has claimed more than 6.19 million lives in at least 192 countries and regions around the world.
