Turkey is increasing the volume of trade operations in the national currency

The volume of Turkish exports in the national currency (Turkish lira) in January-April 2022 increased by 68.4 percent compared to the same period last year – up to 33 billion 340 million lira. Such data are provided by the Anadolu agency on Tuesday with reference to the Turkish Ministry of Commerce.

According to the Ministry of Commerce, in 2021, the volume of exports in Turkish lira reached 66 billion 784 million liras. Turkey’s imports in national currency for the same period amounted to 116 billion 45 million liras.

Thus, according to the results of last year, the volume of foreign trade in the national currency reached 182 billion 829 million liras.

In January 2022, Turkey’s exports in national currency amounted to 7 billion 17 million liras, imports – 12 billion 503 million liras, and the volume of foreign trade – 19 billion 520 million liras.

In February this year, Turkey’s exports in national currency amounted to 8 million 575 million liras, imports – 13 billion 514 million liras, and the volume of foreign trade – 22 billion 89 million liras.

In March, Turkey’s exports in lira amounted to 9 million 281 million, imports – 17 billion 157 million, and the volume of foreign trade – 26 billion 438 million liras.

In April, exports in Turkish lira increased by 59.7 percent compared to the same month last year and amounted to 8 billion 467 million lira.

Turkey’s imports in national currency last month amounted to 17 billion 564 thousand liras, and the volume of foreign trade – 26 billion 31 million liras.

In general, in January-April 2022, Turkey’s imports in lira amounted to 60 billion 369 million lira, and the volume of foreign trade in national currency reached 93 billion 709 million lira.
