Britain urged the Group of Seven nations on Friday to increase pressure on the Kremlin by supplying more arms to Ukraine and expanding sanctions on Russia.
“At this time it is very important for us to continue to put pressure on Vladimir Putin by supplying more weapons to Ukraine, by increasing sanctions,” British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss told reporters on her way to a G7 foreign ministers meeting.
“G7 unity is essential during this crisis to protect freedom and democracy. And we will continue to work together to do just that.”
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock hosted a three-day meeting at the Baltic Sea resort of Weissenhaus to discuss the Russo-Ukrainian war, and address its regional and global impacts.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Moldovan Foreign Minister Nicu Popescu also attended the meeting as guests.
