Umar Kremlev re-elected President of the International Boxing Association

Umar Kremlev has been re-elected as President of the International Boxing Association (IBA).

As a result of the extraordinary Congress of the organization in Istanbul, the Russian was re-elected to the post of head of the IBA.

Umar Kremlev was the only candidate to lead the organization.

According to the IBA Statutes, the only candidate for any position in the association is considered to have been elected unanimously.

The Independent Boxing Integrity Group (BIIU) previously reported that the association’s presidential candidate, Dutchman Boris van der First, was suspended for failing to meet the organization’s necessary requirements.

The election of the head of the IBA, which was supposed to take place on Friday, was postponed to Saturday after the appeal of Boris van der Woerst to the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
