UN: 101 civilians evacuated from Mariupol today

United Nations (UN) In a written statement, Ukraine Humanitarian Coordinator Osnat Lubrani stated that the process of evacuating civilians from the Azovstal Metallurgical Plant in Mariupol continues in cooperation with the UN’s local partners and the Committee of the Red Cross.

Lubrani reported that 101 civilians who have been trapped for 2 months have been successfully evacuated today as part of the evacuation procedures that started on April 29.

UN Humanitarian Coordination Office Ukraine Spokesperson Saviano Abreu announced yesterday that the evacuation of many women, children and elderly people, who were stranded at the Azovstal facility for about 2 months, continues from here to Zaporizhia.

On the other hand, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights announced that 3 thousand 193 civilians have lost their lives since the start of the war in Ukraine on February 24, 227 of them children.

It was noted that 3,353 civilians were injured in the clashes, and the number of casualties could be higher.
