Wulan Guritno admitted that he did not know he was promoting an online gambling site. Through Bucie Lee, a representative from his management, Wulan Guritno, admitted that he was confused because the content in question was currently created in 2020.
“Mbak Wulan is also shocked and feels cornered by the current news because the content is old, it was created in 2020. How come it’s reappearing now?” Bucie Lee told reporters.
He claimed that Wulan Guritno was actually the victim in this case. Bucie Lee said the artist thought the content being promoted was an online game, not a gambling site.
More than that, Wulan Guritno was also not suspicious because previously many other artists had carried out the same promotions.
“Mbak Wulan is a victim because she received information that it was an online game promoted by many other big artists,” he said.
Then the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo), Budi Arie Setiadi, actually proposed that the artist become an Anti-Online Gambling Ambassador.
“The artists, program celebrities and others have been summoned, Wulan Guritno and others. Afterwards, they will be handed over to the Ministry of Communication and Information to become anti-online gambling campaigners,” said Budi at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Monday (4/9) .
