Zinedine Zidane: “El Mago” debuts in Mexican football

Last weekend there was a curious episode in Mexican soccer, because during a Premier League match between Halcones de Zapopan and Irapueto, Zinedine Sidane debuted as a footballer with the Zapopan club.

The event caused quite a bit of curiosity on social networks, since The Mexican shares a name with the Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, footballer who was world champion, Champions League champion and winner of the Ballon d’Or. Furthermore, as a coach he left a great legacy at Real Madrid, as he achieved three consecutive Champions Leaguea feat quite difficult to overcome in modern football.

It was running in the 66th minute of the game when “El Mago” entered the field to replace Juan Antonio Sandoval to have his first minutes as a professional player at the Sergio León Chávez stadium, where both teams tied with a goalless score.

According to his record, Zinedine Sidane Hernández Quezada was born in Guadalajara in 2006, so the midfielder made his debut at just 17 years old..
